Tom has been a broker with Compass Maritime Services since March 2001. In 2011 he became the first Partner who was not a founding member.
Over the years, Tom has bought/sold a variety of different vessels ranging from Bulk Carrier and Tankers to Containerships, Reefers and offshore units. His multi-dimensional mindset has allowed him to work within several different sectors in both the domestic and international markets.
Currently, Tom sits on the US Flag Chartering desk which he played a lead role in developing. In addition, Tom continues his work on the projects side while exploring interesting areas of growth for the company.
Tom graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation, and a commission in the United States Navy Reserve. He sailed as a cadet in 1998 and 1999 for Farrell Lines, Pacific Gulf Marine, and Sea-Land, earning a USCG Third Mate License in June 2000. After graduation, Mr. Linter commenced his career at MaritimeDirect as a maritime analyst, covering Sale and Purchase, New Construction, Recycling-Demolition, and Tanker/Dry cargo chartering.
